Welcome to the bleeding edge of technology!

If you're unable to view the QTVR content here, you simply need to configure your browser with the appropriate QuickTime plug-in, free from Apple.
If you don't have a QTVR plug-in yet, or need a newer version, download it now!

The QTVR nodes on this site are saved in the 2.0 format, and should work with any any QTVR plug-in above 2.0. Sometimes this isn't the case, though, and you may need to get a newer plug-in.

If you have already downloaded and installed a QTVR plug-in, restarted your computer, and still can't see the images, there are several things to look at.
First, go into your browsers' preferences, and look at the helper applications section. Make sure it specifies the correct plug-in to handle files with the .mov suffix, as shown in this picture.

If that looks good, then click on the edit button to open it up, and make sure the the mime type and suffix are set correctly to look something like this picture.

Also, make sure you've allocated enough RAM to your browser - I have 72 Megs in my computer and give 10 Megs to Navigator, and can view QuickTime content fine.

If you have done all these things, and still can't get it to work, perhaps your computer's processor is too slow or doesn't have enough RAM. You should be able to view QuickTime content with a 33 MHZ or faster processor with 32 Megs of RAM.

I couldn't get QTVR 4.0 to work on my Mac with Netscape Navigator 4.08, even though it works fine on Netscape Communicator and Internet Explorer 4.0, but once I downloaded 4.03 and installed it on Netscape Navigator, it worked fine! Go figure! It always used to work for me years ago when I started doing this, when I had Navigator 2.x installed, and QuickTime 2.0. Don't blame Apple - do what the Feds have done, and blame Bill Gates! He's against Apple's QuickTime delivery technology, because it's free and he can't make a profit from it, so he doesn't want you to be able to play QuickTime content on a Windows-based PC. But it can be done - I've helped many people sucessfully download and install QuickTime software on Windows-based PC's, and be up-and-running in about 15 minutes.

Can't handle all this tech stuff? See these images as those before Columbus would have seen them - FLAT - All the images saved in the JPEG format.
You won't get the true QTVR experience, but at least you'll see the images!
